Yours truly, got to know the Sardinians of Train To Roots common thanks to their 2014 'Growing' album. 'Home', the band's fifth album, symbolizes their "homecoming". Train To Roots describe the album as follows: "'Home' represents the state of peace and security that each of us feel at home. A home made up not from bricks, but from people, communities and harmony. Home because we are once again producing our own music, taking first hand responsibility for stylistic choices and choosing the issues we address." On 'Home', again that marriage of English and Italian we also encountered on 'Growing', with the band alternating between ska (ganja tune 'Mister Officer', 'Fantastica'), new roots, dancehall (opener 'One Light') and hip-hop ('Quello Que Non Hai' with Neapolitan rapper Clementino). Standing out in the track list is closing track 'Policegun', for which Train To Roots used a sample from Rose Royce's 'Wishing On A Star'. The guest list is not limited to names from the reggae scene (Lion D, Valencian reggae bands Aspencat and Auxili), because in addition to the already mentioned Clementino, Sicilian pop princess Levante and Sardinian moombahton and X Factor phenomenon Madh (Marco Cappai) also lent a hand. For the cover design of 'Home', the band used 'The Kiss', a painting by Sardinian artist Giorgio Casu. Once again a convincing release by this Italian band!
