Bit of a rarity, this 'Live At The Turntable Club', because even though this album barely lasts 36 minutes, this 1974 live recording is apparently the first ever live album to come out of Jamaica. The location were this live recording was done was the Turntable Club, at the time a very popular club run by Winston 'Merritone' Blake (for an in-depth biography of the man we refer to the liner notes of the album). 'Live At The Turntable Club' is a recording of a showcase organized by Winston 'Niney' Holnes, who, in this way, could promote a number of his artists (Big Youth, Dennis Brown, Delroy Wilson and the illustrious Alexander Portius aka Jah Bottle Head). The introductions of the artists were done by Marie Garth, at that time known as the 'Queen of Jamaican Radio'. Piece of Jamaican music history to complete your collection.
