For 'Reggae Loves Soul' the French Undisputed Records label invited a series of reggae artists (Skarra Mucci, Chezidek, Turbulence, Ranking Joe, Glen Washington...) to give a number of soul classics the reggae treatment. Bobby Hebb's 'Sunny', immortalized by Boney M, Bobby 'Blue' Bland's 'I Wouldn't Treat A Dog (The Way You Treated Me)', The Temptations' 'Just My Imagination', 'If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want To Be Right)', immortalized by, among others, Luther Ingram and Isaac Hayes, 'California Soul', written by Ashford & Simpson and immortalized by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, they're all featured in the track list of 'Reggae Loves Soul'. That could have resulted in yet another average compilation album, were it not for the fact that technically speaking 'Reggae Loves Soul' comes close to perfection; both the mix and the sound quality are of a superior level and that, of course, guarantees a very pleasant listening experience. We want more!
