Because of their vintage Jamaican inspired sound, 10 Ft. Ganja Plant remains one of yours truly's favorite American reggae bands. The cover of their new opus 'Skycatcher' looks like a nineteen fifties movie poster, of course including the familiar plane (sort of the band's unofficial logo) and if you look a little further, you'll discover some of the titles from the track list in the neon signs. No Jamaican guests on 'Scycatcher' as Jay Champany, Kevin Kinsella and Nate Silas Richardson (the last two former members of John Brown's Body) took care of all the required vocals themselves. Yours truly's favorite track on 'Skycatcher' is 'State Of Man', a roots song sounding like a lovers rock tune for which Kevin Kinsella produced a fantastic falsetto: goose bumps!
