A few years ago Ambelique was still considered the big new promise in lovers rock, a reputation he unfortunately wasn't quite able to uphold. The man has a fantastic voice, but all too often choses for too much sentiment or corny covers. His new album, the Cousins release 'Sharing The Night' unfortunately shows those same weaknesses as is proved by the corny 'Bad Times' and covers of, among other things, the Beatles' 'Let It Be' and John Lennon's 'Woman'. Fortunately it's not all doom and gloom, because occasionally ('I Suppose' or 'Hook, Line & Sinker' on Beres Hammond's Groovy Little Thing riddim) Ambelique succeeds in getting us into his lovers vibe.
