The fact the Sahara desert is far from a no man's land devoid of life, is proven by the number of Tuareg-acts that continue to sprout from the area. Atri N'Assouf is yet another project, put together by singer-songwriter Rissa Ag Wanagli, based in France and apparently not too afraid to color outside the lines (the addition of the flute), giving 'Akal' ("land") that little extra. Add to this contributions by Tartit and Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni (Tinariwen) and you know that you're holding an excellent desert album.
