In France, Bordeaux based Booboo'zzz All Stars (a hotchpotch of musicians from bands like Wyman Low & The Ravers, Train's Tone, Tom Frager or The Jouby's) may still be best known as a backing band (for, among others, Volodia and Pupa Style), in 2016 the band started to post some videos of live studio sessions featuring various guest vocalists on social media. It's those recordings that now form the basis for 'Studio Reggae Bash'. And take it from us, even if the entire track list consists of reggae versions of well-known songs from artists like Commodores ('Easy' feat. The Jouby's), MC Solaar ('RMI' feat. Volodia), Björk ('Venus As A Boy' feat. Laurène), Amy Winehouse ('Love Is A Losing Game' feat. Dre Gipson), Tom Jones ('It's Not Unusual' feat. Guive) or James Blake (the more than excellent opener 'I Need A Forrest Fire' feat. Bastien Picot), this is an absolute gem of an album!
