'Guidance' is the new album by Djama Keïta, a French-Antillean singjay from Fort de France in Martinique. On the album Keïta effortlessly alternates between English, French and Creole. With 'Guidance', meant as a beacon of hope in these troubled times, Keïta distanced himself somewhat from his earlier work, which was more dancehall inclined, and instead we get rock-solid new roots (title track 'Guidance', 'Free Up'), love ballads 'For You' and 'My Way', jazzy vibes in 'Inna Morning', dancehall-light for 'Ghetto Life', and even some acoustic vibes like in closing track 'Viv Adan Love'. Top tune in the track list is without any doubt 'Seek Jah Love', for which Djama invited his colleague Lyricson. Boom tune! Varied long player, mainly deriving its authenticity from the frequent usage of Martiniquan Creole, a language immediately providing Keïta's songs with a Caribbean vibe.
