'Inna City Pressure' is not a new Dr. Israel album, but a reissue of the original with the addition of a few extra tracks. Israel juggles a whole array of genres on this album (dub, reggae, drum & bass, hip hop, rock, punk...) and one might start to wonder who his target audience might be; in any case it left yours truly somewhat in limbo. Being a reggae fanatic I recognized parts of old classics like 'Armagideon Time' and technically it's all done very skillfully, but on the whole Israel seems to want to go in too many directions at once. It needs to be said though that 'Inna City Pressure' perfectly captures the inner city vibe of a large metropolis like New York (also Dr. Israel's base of operations). An album for music lovers with a sense for experimentation.
