After their African trip for 'Afrikya', multicultural band Dub Inc returns to its roots with 'Hors Controle'. Dub Inc describe their sound as "world music reggae", and the mix of Komlan's fragga and the Oriental sounds of Bouchkour, make this band from the South of France a bit of an outsider; a duality that's also expressed by the guests they invited on this album: Tarrus Riley is a fresh voice in the Jamaican new roots scene and Jimmy Oihid paid his dues in the French raï-circuit. With the title of the album, the band proudly refers to its independent status: Dub Inc categorically declines every offer made by a large label to ensure total creative freedom.
