For lovers rock enthusiasts like yours truly Ed Robinson will be no unknown, but it might surprise some to learn this New York based crooner began his career in the music business as a drummer in a rock band. With 'Written In Stone' Robinson delivers his fifth album and once again he does not disappoint; in fact, most of the tracks on 'Written In Stone' sound almost like instant lovers rock classics. Robinson's voice and style are somewhat reminiscent of Freddie McGregor, which is certainly not a bad reference. The great 'Our Heroes', a tribute to the heroes of reggae, ties in with songs like Marcia Griffiths' 'Back In The Days' and Beres Hammond's 'Rock Away'. Great album!
