What's left to say about yet another Groundation album? The Californians definitely don't need yours truly's recommendation any longer, but we'd still like to point out a few differences between 'Building An Ark' and previous Groundation albums if we may. 'Building An Ark' is Groundation's answer to the mysticism surrounding 2012 and just like for Noah it's an ark that will protect us in these dark times. The album contains no notable guest appearances; Groundation collaborated with producer Jim 'Lion' Fox and retreated to their own universe. Trumpeter David Chachere was given a lot of room to improvise and backing-vocalists Kim Pommell and Kerry-Ann Morgan were given a more central role (on 'Payaka Way', 'Who's Gonna' and 'Keep It Up' they are responsible for a large part of the vocals). All of this results in an album which undoubtedly can be counted among the more accessible ones in Groundation's discography. Simple works as well!
