After a three year break the Internationals return with 'Mousetrap' and with Lize Accoe (ex De La Vega), the band now also has a voice. The combination of Lize's voice and the Internationals' instrumentation is at times reminiscent of bands like Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings or Dutch Caro Emerald. Accoe is not the only new face in the line-up though, as guitarist/vocalist Marc Tee also joined the ranks. 'Summer', the opening track of the album, announces the coming summer season and might well be one of the best lovers rock tunes we've heard in recent years. 'Today' is another contagious track, mostly thanks to the brilliant horns arrangement. The ska of 'Closer' and 'Shoulder' reminded yours truly of Swedish-Ugandan Jaqee's 'Kokoo Girl' album. The perfect album for fans of nostalgic soul, ska, rocksteady and reggae.
