Dominik Haas, better known as Jahcoustix, didn't decide to name his newest album 'Reunion' for no reason, as for this album he once again joined forces with Oneness Records producer and current Dub Inc bass player Moritz Von Korff and sound wizard Umberto Echo, with whom he recorded his debut album 'Souljahstice' in 2003 and 'Grounded' in 2006. These new recording sessions resulted in ten new songs, most of them over as yet unpublished Oneness riddims. Cherry on the cake are duets with Meta Dia (featured in title track 'Reunion'), label buddies Toké and Ras Muhamad who provide some Indonesian vibes in 'Thin Red Line', Cologne based band Memoria and Luciano. Especially 'Stronger', record with the latter, undoubtedly belongs to the best that 'Reunion' has to offer. 'Distant Relatives' reminded us of Jamaican band Mystic Revealers, and with 'Unconditional' Jahcoustix proves that he can also write a decent lovers tune, and he concludes in pure rocksteady style with 'Back Into The Light'. With 'Reunion' Jahcoustix delivers a virtuously flawless album, thanks to Moritz Von Korff and Umberto Echo of course!
