This self-titled album is the long player debut of Jahneration, two young lions from Paris. Thanks to YouTube and other social media, Théo and Ogach rose to fame in no time with their clips. In 2013 there was already the aptly titled debut EP 'The Foreword'. Meanwhile, the duo founded their own Ovastand label and were invited to open for Dub Inc. in a packed Zenith. Needless to say things are only looking up for the two Parisians and after listening to 'Jahneration' we can but conclude its deservedly so, because thanks to the excellent flow of the duo, this album rocks from start to finish. Add to that a small but distinct guest list (Dean Fraser, Naâman, Meta Dia) and things can only get better. It's difficult to choose, but three tracks you definitely need to check are 'Control Your Tempa', the combination with Naâman, the super catchy 'Reload', and the uplifting 'Lift Us High' with Meta Dia. Accompanied by DJ Nix'on, Jahneration goes hip-hop for 'Not Like Them', and closing track 'One Day' also has a hip-hop vibe. The only tune in the track list that didn't really appeal to yours truly was the heavy dubstep flavored 'Deh Ya', but that's something we'll gladly overlook. Jahneration proves that France still belongs to the absolute reggae top in Europe!
