After Maikal X and Ziggi, Joggo's 'Modern Rockers Vol. 1' is the next dose of fresh reggae wind from The Netherlands. These days Jurgen Orville Seedorf (the younger brother of ex-Ajax player and Dutch international Clarence Seedorf) spends his days in Surinam, but he grew up in Amsterdam. For his album debut, Joggo joined forces with Dredda Records and that resulted in a solid new roots album with a hint of Morgan Heritage (opener 'DJ Play Me Some Roots' or 'Strong Like Lion') and a dash of lovers ('I Am Blessed' or 'Strong Black Woman' over JahSolidRock's Paradise riddim). Some of Joggo's lyrics are quite witty (in 'DJ Play Me Some Roots' he gives his view on the media ignoring reggae music: "Israel Vibration say: "Play me pon your MTV!", 2010 we there now, still no reggae to see!"). Excellent debut effort!
