Even though US band John Brown's Body (the band was named after the well-known American marching song about the abolitionist John Brown, who was hanged in 1859 following a failed attempt to start a slave rebellion) is in the same league as bands like Soldiers Of Jah Army, Groundation or 10 Ft. Ganja Plant, in Europe they don't as yet enjoy the same status as the aforementioned bands. Back when front man Kevin Kinsella was still part of the band, John Brown's Body's sound was still heavily roots and dub influenced, but when Elliot Martin stepped in to replace Kinsella, elements from rock and electronics were introduced. 'Kings And Queens' already dates from 2013, but a dub version of the album, for which John Brown's Body called on reputed dubnologists like Dennis Bovell ('Gallows Pole Dub'), Dubmatix ('Fracture Dub') or Ticklah ('Land Of Plenty Dub'), is now being released.
