Junior Kelly's longstanding relationship with Al.Ta.Fa.An Records had to result in an album release one day. 'Piece Of The Pie' is a joy for anyone who likes well-known riddims. The album opens with 'Rock, Rock, Rock', a track over Addicted To Music, a riddim we still remembered from the eponymous song by Taffari. And then the riddim train takes off at full speed: for 'Creator' Kelly uses the Kiana riddim, for 'Go Round Dem', a duet with Lion Face, he dusts off the Security riddim, 'Working Hard' is a brilliant version on the Senior riddim, we still remembered 'Dem A Wonder' (over the Dem A Wonder riddim) from Smiley's debut EP 'Lively Road' and the same goes for 'Don't Say No', a tune on the Jelani riddim, that can also be found on Mark Wonder's 'True Stories Of Mark Wonder And Friends' album. The only mistake in the track list is title song 'Piece Of The Pie', in which Junior Kelly tries to create a Latin vibe, but nonetheless, this album is one of the strongest Junior Kelly releases in years!
