'Soul Science', last year's debut effort by Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara, released on the Wayward Records label, must also have impressed the heads at Real World Records, as successor 'Tell No Lies' appears under the auspices of the jubilating label. 'Tell No Lies' still offers an ongoing dialogue between Adams guitar and Camara's ritti (one-stringed African violin) and kologo (two-stringed African banjo), but sounds a lot rougher at times. The cooperation between Adams and Camara ensures that the album one moment sounds like Western blues ('Fulani Coochie Man') only to dive deep into the Sahara again the next. Album to listen to under a burning sun!
