Little Roy may be responsible for some of the biggest hits in reggae history ('Tribal War', 'Prophesy'), all too often the cover versions of his songs are many times more famous than his own originals. His last album already dates back to 2006, but the wait for a successor seems to have been worth it, because 'Heat' is a pure roots gem. With the help of riddim tandem Mafia & Fluxy and, among others, Winston Francis and George Dekker (The Pioneers), Little Roy rerecorded some of his old successes ('Jah Can Count On I', 'More From A Little', here over the Full Up riddim) and from his previous album, 'Children Of The Most High', a number of tracks ('Heat', 'Membership Card') also pop up in the track list. Fine roots album by an undervalued veteran!
