With 'Here I Am' Lukie D offers another thoroughly delightful album and for yours truly it remains a mystery why he remains somewhat undervalued as an artist. Lukie has a voice that lends itself both to lovers rock ('Since You've Been Gone' or 'Sign Your Name' on the appropriately named Intimate riddim) and new roots ('Time Are Running Out', 'Prophecy Reveal' on the Fort Augustus riddim). Yours truly could have done without the a cappella opener 'Look At Us Now', but at least the song nicely illustrates the beauty of Lukie's voice. A well done cover of Heptones' classic 'Book Of Rules' really kicks the album into gear and from there on 'Here I Am' offers a full hour of pure enjoyment!
