'Fell In', the new album by French dub duo Mahom (Antoine Mavel and Joris Herda) is in every way a successor to 2015's 'The Skankin' Cat'. With a little effort, you can also read 'Fell In' as feline, or cat-like. That cat can also be found on the cover of the album and returns in songs like 'Chat Sauvage' (which literally begins with caterwauling) or 'Nine Lives'. The majority of the tracks on 'Fell I' can just be classified as solid dub, but some tracks have a bit of a Tomorrowland vibe going ('Time To', 'Fl a Sh'), and with 'Spiritual Thing', their dub remix of Eddie Amador's iconic tune 'House Music', the duo proves they indeed have some affection for the dance genre. Lisoun's "vocals" in 'The Big Empty' sound like a session at the psychologist and 'The Dub Boat' featuring Spelim and Thomas Kahn, immediately reminded us of Seeed. Varied French dub production.
