Germany's latest reggae revelation is... Korean! Vocally Martin Jondo could be Gentleman's younger brother, but musically 'Echo & Smoke' at times resembles the work of Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers. Jondo was voted newcomer of the year by the readers of the German reggae magazine Riddim in 2005 and with this album (don't be put off by the Asian-looking cover) he has also got yours truly's vote! The strongest song in the track list is 'Clearly' funnily enough a duet with "big brother" Gentleman. One to keep an eye on!
