This six-track 'Dred Reggae' EP is a re-release of the 2013 debut EP by Cypriot (dub-) producer Med Dred, a name that also featured on 'XXVIII', Haji Mike's new album. Med Dred (real name Xenios Zonias) draws his inspiration from the veterans of the genre: "Reggae has always been my passion as I was brought up in Brixton and went to school there, so my musical influence has always been a heavy bassline on a reggae riddim. Some of my mentors are: Scientist, King Tubby, Black Uhuru, Mad Professor, Sly & Robbie, Bob Marley, Eek-A-Mouse, Gregory Isaacs... and many more kings, not enough room here to mention!". Apart from his work behind the mixing desk, improvisations on melodica and vocal contributions, 'Dred Reggae' also features the basses of Ted Sirota, Christopher Pound and Tian, the drums of Felix Russ Abu (Dub Caravan) and the vocals of Peter Attah ('Attah Dred'). The track list is made up of six excellent dubby tracks which are now, five years after the original release, being re-issued digitally.
