Barely a year after the release of 'Twinz', the Italian reggae twins of Mellow Mood are back already with '2 The World'. The fact we should perceive this album as the second part of a diptych is illustrated by several similarities with their previous release: for the production work on '2 The World' the twins once again called on Paolo Baldini, the cover of '2 The World' is just about identical to that of 'Twinz' (only true fans will notice the twins have changed places), with 'Love Mama', like 'Twinz', '2 The World' ends with a mama tune, and the intro to both albums also sounds quite similar. A nice gimmick is the aptly titled 'Twinz Invasion', for which Jacopo and Lorenzo collaborated with Jamaican twins Aijah and Jahnoi Nunes aka The Gideon and Selah, both part of the Jah Ova Evil movement. The remainder of Mellow Mood's guest list this time is mainly made up of women: for 'Wipe Away' Mellow Mood invited Jah9 and in 'Extra Love' you'll hear the voice of Tanya Stephens, but it was Hempress Sativa, flanked by the equally excellent Italian singjay Forelock, who really caught our attention with opener 'Inna Jamaica Pt. 2' (the first "version" of this song, a duet with Richie Campbell, was already featured on 'Twinz'). '2 The World' mostly contains new roots tunes, but for 'Weh Yuh Trend' and 'Everything She Want' Jacopo and Lorenzo also took a stab at dancehall. Italian reggae at its best!
