'Gideon Boot' is actually Richie Spice's declaration of independence: 5th Element is no more and his sparkling backing vocalist Etana went on to pursue a solo career. Spice is one of the few Jamaican artists of his generation who consistently manage to retain a certain level. Still, 'Gideon Boot' might be just a little more predictable than predecessors 'Spice In Your Life' and 'In The Streets To Africa', but that were almost instant classics. With hits like 'The Plane Land' or 'Getting Harder', Richie still confirms his status as the new Crown Prince of reggae.
