Yours truly had honestly never heard of Roger Robin, but the man turns out to have a velvet voice reminiscent of that of Maxi Priest and therefore extremely suitable for a lovers rock album. 'Take It Slow' is a near perfect love album. Tracks like 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry', 'My Woman's Love' or 'No One Else But You' leave little to the imagination. To top it all off, Robin uses a handful of classic riddims (Bob Marley's 'Waiting In Vain' or Alton Ellis' 'I Can't Stand It') which only add to the vibe of the album.
