For Salome Fur, a Munich based band, a number of (former) members of groups like Steamy Dumplings, Jamaram and Benuts joined forces. The result is a sound somewhere between ska, rocksteady, blues rock ('Roses') and funk rock, at times reminding us of Belgian band Moon Invaders. That being said, Salome Fur definitely seems to have drawn inspiration from the music of Toots Hibbert, as 'Don't Calm Down Toots', an ode to the Jamaican veteran, clearly illustrates. The name of the band refers to the cat that front man Prince Flo still has fond childhood memories about and in the title of the band's debut effort you'll also find a feline reference.
