'Modern Revolution', the debut effort of Sojah (not to be confused with the American SOJA or Soldiers of Jah Army) or brothers Konshens and Delus, is undoubtedly one of the revelations of 2009. Along with the crew of the Austrian Irievibrations, who already gave us Perfect's 'Born Dead With Life', the siblings deliver an album that, as the title indicates, proves a modern mix of new roots ('Positive Vibration', a duet with Luciano, is definitely worth a listen), conscious dancehall ('How Much Longer', 'Nah Bad Like We'), nyahbinghi ('Babylon Burn') and ska ('U R The Wife'), offering something to everyone's taste (even a dash of German thanks to the intervention of Iriepathie in 'Hands Across The World'). A big thumbs up!
