Yours truly got to know New York-based Subatomic Sound System back in 2017 thanks to the release of 'Super Ape Returns To Conquer', their more than excellent collaboration with Lee 'Scratch' Perry. For this 'Babylon Soon Fall' EP, producer Emch joined forces with Jamaican veteran Robert 'Screechy Dan' Stephens, also based in New York. 'Babylon Soon Fall', based in part on Yabby You's 'Jah Vengeance', had been a scorcher during Subatomic's sets for years and fans and selectors kept asking for an official release. In addition to the vocal version, this EP also features a dub version ('Dub Shall Live On'), a horns dub ('Wicked Man Soon Fall', nicely showcases the percussion of Jamaican veteran Larry McDonald) and a dub instrumental, complemented by one other vocal track: 'Champion Sound', a catchy version over Horace Andy's classic Money Money riddim. 'Babylon Soon Fall' is proof that short and sweet sometimes suffices!
