The mestizo-virus now also seems to have spread to The Netherlands: the local variant is known as damsko mestizo and TenTemPiés is its most famous exponent. TenTemPiés was founded in the summer of 2008 by Daniel Alarcón, born and raised in Amsterdam, but of Chilean origin. The band already released two previous EP's and an album and, leading up to the release of a second long player, now serve up this six track 'A Casa Tierra' EP, opening with 'Nada Te Pido', a solid ska-punk track. 'Americano' has a salsa-muffin vibe and 'Mé Enamoré' starts out as a solid ska track, but then slips into a slower cumbia/reggae-rhythm. 'Que Será', the final track on the EP, is a remix by Perquisite (the original version can be found on 'Canto Para Gritar', TenTemPiés debut album), given an Andean touch thanks to an added pan flute-sample. Tastes like more!
