Every year we pass that date in February declared by cunning salesmen as the day of love. If money has to be spent, then yours truly opts for a dash of music. The Greensleeves label has just released the second part in their 'Songs For Reggae Lovers' series and just as with the first part, released last year, that means two discs filled with delicious lovers rock. Artists included on this volume are, among others, Freddie McGregor, Frankie Paul, Gregory Isaacs and Beres Hammond and if you get this compilation you'll also get your hands on three of the biggest lovers tunes of all time: Freddie McGregor's 'Just Don't Want To Be Lonely', J.C. Lodge's 'Someone Loves You Honey' and Dawn Penn's 'You Don't Love Me (No No No)'. That being said, this second volume clearly counts a lot more recent tracks (Tarrus Riley's 'Stay With You', Althea Hewitt's version of Beyonce's 'If I Were A Boy' or Etana's 'Closer'), raising the suspicion the genre is gaining in popularity again.
