With 'Diaspora Hi-Fi' Watcha Clan, a five-Member multicultural band from Marseille, delivers what has to be the ideal soundtrack for a film by Gypsy filmmaker par excellence, Tony Gatlif. The album, conceived as an ode to the nomadic people of the world, takes the listener on a tour from the Sahara over the Balkans all the way to India. Along the way encounters between North and South, Arab and Jew or modern electronics and traditional acoustic instruments, spontaneously evolve. Sometimes exciting ('Goumari', 'Tchiribim'), at times melancholic ('Ch'ilet La'yani') and occasionally really relaxing ('Travellin' Shoes', 'Oeud El Chouli').
