Ifriqiyya Electrique

Reviews

Ifriqiyya Electrique - Laylet El Booree (Glitterbeat Records)

Ifriqiyya Electrique will probably never really be our cup of tea, as their sound, a mix of the trance rhythms from the Banga ritual of the descendants of African slaves in the oases of the Sjott el-Djerid in South-Tunisia and Western electro/punk rock was just a bit much for our delicate ears.

Ifriqiyya Electrique - Rûwâhîne (Glitterbeat Records)

For Electricque Ifriqiyya (during the middle ages Ifriqiya or Ifriqiyah was the name for the coastal region of present-day eastern Libya, Tunisia and Algeria), guitarist François Cambuzat and bass player Gianna Greco (Putan Club) joined forces with local musicians - Tarek Sultan, vocals/nagharat/nagharat/krakebs, Yahia Chouchen, vocals/krakebs, Youssef Ghazala, vocals/krakebs - from the Tunisian Banga-community.
