La Sra. Tomasa - Houly Housy Sessions EP (Guspira Records)
After the release of their new 'Alegre Pero Peligroso' album, Spanish band La Sra. Tomasa had planned a whole promotion tour, but like so many other bands, they saw those plans torpedoed by the overpowering COVID-19 pandemic. In order not to resign themselves completely, they decided to give four tracks from the album a revamp.
La Sra. Tomasa - Alegre Pero Peligroso (Guspira Records)
After 'Corazon, Bombo Y Son', their enjoyable 2014 long-player debut, we'd lost sight of Spanish electro-mestizo formation La Sra. Tomasa. With 'Alegre Pedro Peligroso', for which they teamed up with Barcelonese producer Genis Trani, and, among others, invited Ghanaian afrobeats star Stonebwoy, Belgian rapper Coely and Spanish rapper Bejo, the seven-piece band once again pushed its musical boundaries by now extending their mix of Latin American styles like salsa, cumbia, timba, and guaguanco with reggae and hip-hop, with genres like afrobeats and trap.
Bongo Botrako - Punk Parranda: Live 2014 + La Sra. Tomasa - Corazon, Bombo Y Son (Kasba Music)
The fact a concert by mestizo-sensation Bongo Botrako has little in common with their studio recordings, the Tarragona-based band proves with 'Punk Parranda' ("parranda" is Spanish for party), a live recording of a concert at the Viña Rock festival in Villarrobledo in May of 2014.
